In the early 1990s, fuel markets were only becoming more volatile. While many scrambled through on instinct alone, we pioneered the use of data in fuel price optimization for U.K. fuel retailers. Back then, we were known as KSS Fuels. The way we helped clients resonated. Within a decade, we had expanded to the U.S., six European countries, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Thailand and Brazil.
Beyond data, we applied a new strategy to fuel retail success. Instead of a narrow focus on cost cutting, we changed the paradigm to building revenue, market share and profits. We saw that price optimization alone wouldn't be enough to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive market. So through the 2000s, we expanded our strategies and solutions.
Meanwhile, Market Planning Solutions Inc. had been advancing the practice of location intelligence and retail network planning since the 1970s. Their integrated approach and intelligent data analytics made sense of the complex factors in the evolving consumer decision journey.
As at KSS Fuels, MPSI® was leveraging Big Data to meet clients' needs. But from the beginning, both companies understood data's power—and its limitations. Human intelligence—a culture of adaptive thinking and continuous learning—was always the critical core. In 2011, KSS Fuels joined with Market Planning Solutions Inc. under a new banner: Kalibrate.

ROBERT STEIN, PRESIDENT & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Kalibrate President and CEO Bob Stein has held top executive positions in fuel and convenience retail for more than 30 years. He is known for successfully advising companies through the strategic use of technology and market insights to develop sustainable and profitable growth strategies. Combining his experience as a former convenience retailer with data analytics and global knowledge of retail best practices, his innovative strategies combine the impact of fuel and merchandise pricing with network and site planning foresight to move his client companies and the industry forward.
For over 10 years Bob led KSS Fuels, a pioneer in the application of Big Data to retail fuel pricing. He led the merger of KSS Fuels with MPSI, the market leader in retail planning models, to form Kalibrate. Bob’s experience also includes eighteen years as CEO at Dairy Mart Convenience Stores Inc. and four years as CEO at RBS & Associates. He has also consulted globally, sharing knowledge and insights on critical industry developments and their impact on areas including finance, pricing, marketing, operations and strategic growth.
GREGG BUDOI, CFO & EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Gregg joined Kalibrate in November 2014 as CFO and Executive Vice President of Finance, Human Resources, Mergers and Acquisitions and Business Development. He has over 20 years of experience in the petroleum retail, convenience store and finance sectors, as well as extensive mergers and acquisition experience. Prior to joining Kalibrate, Gregg was CEO and President of EZ Energy, where he built the business to a chain of over 90 successfully operated fuel/convenience stores across multiple locations before overseeing its sale to 7-Eleven. Gregg’s earlier roles include managing director and partner of Barnes Wendling Corporate Finance, LLC, a financial advisory firm, and CFO for Dairy Mart Convenience Stores, Inc., a publicly traded 850+ outlet chain.
ADAM HUTCHESON, CTO
Adam brings 18 years experience to Kalibrate. Adam previously was the CTO at Engagement/DHS Group, a big-data healthcare company where he specialized in data, analytics, distributed computing, and user driven application development. Adam has led significant business and technology transformation projects for online banking, cognitive insights for health and wellness, wearable technologies and user driven application development.
Adam will lead a talented team charged with strengthening our platform to support our business and customer objectives and will be responsible for monitoring and assessing new technologies, helping to drive efficiencies across Kalibrate.
MARK HAWTIN, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Mark joined Kalibrate in June 1997 as Head of Sales & Marketing, to lead the company’s commercial activities in Europe and break into the North American market. He progressed through a number of commercial positions to become director of strategic alliances and business development. As SVP of Strategy he led the integration of MPSI following the acquisition in 2011 and then took responsibility for global sales outside of North America. Mark is now responsible for integrating company operations to deliver high quality, end-to-end client services and provide the agile processes needed to help Kalibrate achieve its growth objectives.
SCOTT STEIN, EXECUTIVE VP, GLOBAL SOLUTIONS DELIVERY
Scott has over 30 years of experience managing professional services organizations, with emphasis on customer care, business transformation and organizational development. His previous roles included Sr. VP of Professional Services at dunnhumby USA, Chief Information Officer for the nation’s fourth-largest convenience retail chain, and Founder and President of Empowerware, Inc. At Kalibrate, Scott is responsible for the global Professional Services team and Client Success.
IAN THOMPSON, EXECUTIVE VP, GLOBAL SOLUTIONS CONSULTANCY
Ian held numerous senior roles with blue-chip organizations before he joined Kalibrate in 2001. While with Kalibrate, he has led the professional services, sales, strategy and solution consulting teams while working out of the New Jersey and Manchester offices. Ian is a respected and influential industry expert who provides profound insight and knowledge to address the global and local complexities of retail fuel.
