Applied MInerals is the owner of the Dragon Mine, the only known measured resource of Halloysite Clay in the western hemisphere significant enough for large scale commercial production. The Dragon Mine is located in the Tintic District of Utah stretching over 230 acres of land. Applied Minerals retained the world’s leading experts in Halloysite to create a standard for the characterization, quantification, and commercialization of this unique mineral. As a result of these efforts, the Company is able to deliver commercially consistent product grades of the highest quality Halloysite in the world.
The Dragon Mine is the only known measured resource of Halloysite Clay in the Western Hemisphere significant enough for large scale commercial production. It is located in the Tintic District of Utah, covering 267 acres of fully owned land with mining permits for extraction of minerals.

Andre M. Zeitoun
President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director
Mr. Zeitoun has served as President and CEO of Applied Minerals since 2009. He has 16 years of experience investing in operational turnarounds with a focus on early stage, emerging growth industries– most recently as a Portfolio Manager with SAC Capital. He is responsible for executing the turnaround and rebranding of the Company and its products and successfully leading it from exploration stage to commercialization in less than three years.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Carney has served as CFO of Applied Minerals since 2015. From 2012 until 2015, Mr. Carney was Vice President of Business Development for Applied Minerals. From 2009 through 2012, he was the Interim Chief Financial Officer of the Company, instrumental in the successful transition from Atlas Mining to Applied Minerals. Mr. Carney graduated with a BA in Computer Science from Lehman College and an MBA in Finance from Tulane University.
Mr. Gleeson has 40 years experience practicing securities, corporate, and mergers and acquisitions law. Prior to joining the Company, he was a partner at K&L Gates, LLP for eleven years, focusing on various areas of corporate law. For his final three years at K&L Gates, he served as Applied Minerals, Inc.’s outside counsel, a time during which he acquired an in-depth understanding of the Company’s business. Mr. Gleeson began his legal career as a litigator with the SEC, specializing in accounting cases. He received his J.D. from the University of Michigan.
Director of Sales
Mr. Newsome has served as Director of Sales for Applied Minerals since 2015. Mr. Newsome began his career at BASF Catalysts, LLC, formerly Engelhard Corporation, in 1994 and worked in a number of senior sales roles. From 2012 to 2015, Mr. Newsome was a Sales Manager at BASF Corporation. While there he focused on the sale of specialty kaolin to the paint, coatings, plastics and rubber markets in the Southern and Western U.S. During his tenure he was credited with the development of new business, oversaw territory sales growth of 18% and restructured the firm's distribution network to yield greater efficiencies.

Mr. Concha has over 40 years experience as a hands-on corporate executive. He has first-hand industry knowledge, gained from senior executive positions in various industries, including chemicals, plastics, forest products, metals and mining. Since 2005 Mr. Concha has been the President of Mario Concha & Associates, LLC, a firm providing consulting services to senior executives and members of boards of directors in the chemicals and plastics industries. Mr. Concha served as the President of the Chemical Division of Georgia Pacific Corporation from 1998 until 2005. From 1992 until 1998 he served as President of the International Division of GS Industries, a manufacturer of specialty steel. From 1985 until 1992 Mr. Concha served as a Vice President for Occidental Chemical Corporation ("Oxy-Chem"). From 1964 until 1985 Mr. Concha served in a number of senior management positions at Union Carbide.

Mr. Levy is Chief Executive Officer and principal consultant for Board Advisory, a consulting firm established to assist public companies, or companies aspiring to be public with corporate governance, corporate compliance, ethics, financial reporting and financial strategies. Mr. Levy is a recognized corporate governance and financial reporting expert with over 30 years of progressive financial, accounting and business experience, including having served as Chief Financial Officer of both public and private companies for over 13 years. Mr. Levy is a Certified Public Accountant with nine years experience with the national accounting firms of Ernst & Young, Laventhol & Horwath and Grant Thornton.
David A. Taft
Mr. Taft is the President of IBS Capital Corporation, an investment management firm, which he founded in 1990. IBS is the beneficial owner of 23.3% of Applied Minerals common stock.
Mr. Betz is a veteran chemical industry executive with 40 years of experience. From 2000 through his retirement in 2002, Mr. Betz was the President of Cognis Corp., the North American division of Cognis GmbH. From 1989 through 2000 Mr. Betz held a number of management positions at Henkel including Executive VP and President of its Emery Group, a leading manufacturer of oleochemicals, and President of its Chemicals Group for North America. From 1979 through 1989, Mr. Betz worked in a number of manufacturing and operations capacities for the Emery Division of National Distillers and Chemicals Corp., eventually rising to President of the division. Mr. Betz began his career in the specialty chemicals industry by joining Emery Industries from 1963 to 1979 where is he served in several roles, including as a Market Development Representative, Manager of Corporate Planning, Vice President of Operations - Emery (Canada), Manager of Corporate Development, and General Manager of Business Groups. Since 2003, Mr. Betz has been the owner of Personal Care Ingredients, LLC, a privately owned marketer of natural products to the personal care industry.
Mr. Zamani is an investment professional with over 13 years experience investing in the materials industry. From 2014 through 2016, Mr. Zamani served as a Portfolio Manager at Gefinor Capital, an investment management firm. From July 2012 to December 2013, Mr. Zamani was a Principal at SLZ Capital Management, a New York-based asset management firm. From 2004 through 2012, Mr. Zamani was a senior investment professional at Goldman Sachs Investment Partners and Goldman Sachs Principal Strategies. While at Goldman Sachs, he managed a portfolio focused on the energy, materials, utilities and industrials sectors. From 2002 through 2004, Mr. Zamani was a mergers and acquisitions analyst focused on the energy and utilities sectors at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, a boutique New York-based investment bank.
Mr. Zyngier is the founder and Managing Director of Batuta Capital Advisors, a merchant bank focused on advising/investing in event driven situations. His background is in finance and consulting with tenures at Alden Global/Smith, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, a McKinsey & Co. Mr. Zyngier holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an MBA.
